              David Lee Allison     1948 - 2008

David Lee Allison, 60, of Gore, Virginia, died Friday, July 25, 2008 in the Winchester Medical Center. Mr. Allison was born in 1948 in The Plains, Virginia, the son of the late Richard Vernon Allison and Helen Myna Hubbard and stepson of Robert Oxley of Arlington, Virginia. He retired from the Air Force with 20 years of service. He was a member of New Hope Baptist Church. Mr. Allison was a veteran, having served with the United States Air Force during four terms in Vietnam as a TSGT. Mr. Allison married Ann Southers Allison on October 28, 2000 in Fauquier County, Virginia. Surviving with his stepfather and wife, a stepdaughter, Lacey Burnett of Boston, Massachusetts; two stepsons, James Burnett of Winchester, Virginia and Jeff Lowery of Pensacola, Florida; and two grandchildren. He is preceded in death by two sisters. A funeral service was conducted at Omps Funeral Home, South Chapel on Monday at 11:00 A.M. with the Pastor George Reed. Interment will be in Shenandoah Memorial Park. The family received friends on Sunday at Omps Funeral Home, South Chapel from 2:00 P.M. until 4:00 P.M. Memorial contributions may be made to Blue Ridge Hospice, 333 W. Cork Street, Winchester, Virginia 22601 or toAmerican Cancer Society, 2654 Valley Avenue, Suite B, Winchester, Virginia 22601.


Prayers and sympathy to the families and friends - they will be missed but always in our memories.
