HELP OUT an INJURED FIREFIGHTER!!!

On April 7, 2009 Firefighter Kenny Ayers of the Baker Heights Volunteer Fire Department in Martinsburg, WV, was critically injured.FF Ayers was injured in the process of extinguishing a structure fire on Williamsport Pk. Due to severe injuries to his face and left arm FF Ayers is unable to work, his family at BHVFD and the community have organized many fundraisers to help Kenny and his family cover their bills during his recovery.Two of these fundraisers were held for Saturday May 9th.

The first was a group motorcycle ride, sponsored by the RedKnights Motorcycle Club WV Chapter 7. The ride begin at Citizens Fire Company #2 in CharlesTown, WV at 9 a.m. Departing Company 2 promptly at 11a.m. and ending at the Roadway Inn benefit concert for Kenny. Cost for the ride was $15 per bike.

The second event was a benefit concert at the Roadway Inn, in Martinsburg, WV. For $5 admission, food and music by local bands was provided. Doors opened at noon, music started at 2p.m.; there were door prizes and a silent auction as well. It was held at the Roadway Inn, Edwin Miller Blvd., Martinsburg, WV.

FRANK RAFLO, Honorary Member of Leesburg Volunteer Fire Company recently passed away. His legendary writings on LVFC and it's history are posted here with his permission. Frank Raflo, writer, politician, historian, publisher, business owner, father, husband, and most of all, a friend to many, many people.

He will be missed!
